Language touches on every aspect of life, and SIL-PNG wants to partner with both national and international organisations who are working to improve the lives of Papua New Guineans in every sphere: emotional, financial, intellectual, physical, social, and spiritual.

SIL-PNG partners first with the people of Papua New Guinea, working in hundreds of communities to provide the tools and expertise to empower language solutions for the challenges they face. We work closely with churches to see spiritual transformation in PNG. We partner with international organisations on projects including literacy and education, and with the Government of PNG.

SIL-PNG was inaugurated by an Act of Parliament in 1957. We are committed to supporting the Government of PNG in achieving the goals of Vision 2050. Our work contributes directly to two of the key pillars of this bold plan: ‘Human Capital Development, Gender, Youth, and People Empowerment’ and ‘Spiritual Cultural and Community Development’. We are eager to expand our collaboration with, and support for, the Government of PNG as they work toward building ‘...a smart, fair, wise, healthy, and happy nation’.

The PNG Government’s Vision 2050 highlights an important role for the Church in achieving the nation’s goals. SIL-PNG partners with churches across denominational lines in support of community spiritual transformation through Bible translation, Scripture engagement, literacy, training, and more. We appreciate our Church partners and desire to partner with them in greater and deeper ways.
